Artist Harold Otis | The Queen of HeARTS Hardcover Journal
$24.95
Do you love playing cards? Did your family spend hours after Sunday or holiday dinners playing euchre, 500, rummy, spades, or HeARTS? Or were you always a solitaire kind of person? The Queen of HeARTS is known to represent a nurturing but powerful figure who symbolizes empathy and unconditional love — often called the "heart of the deck," her mirrored portrait reflects her dual nature: deep feeling alongside volatility, fierce love alongside fierce emotion. Who's the Queen of HeARTS in your wonderland? What role do they play in the hand you've been dealt? Get Harold's The Queen of HeARTS Hardcover Journal and take note. Sometimes a little reflection gets us closer to the HeART of the matter.
Harold Otis is a Des Moines-born entrepreneur, connector, and creative spirit whose life has been shaped by resilience, gratitude, and an unshakeable belief in the power of the human heart. Raised on the East Side of Des Moines by his adoptive mother Mildred — a woman born in 1920 who raised twelve children, her own family, and ultimately adopted Harold at age two — he learned early what it means to lead with love, show up with integrity, and never stop building.
His professional journey began at fourteen, detasseling corn in the fields of Iowa at 4am, earning enough to buy his first pair of Jordan 4s — still his favorites today. From there, Harold moved through restaurants, gyms, corporate sales, and talent acquisition, always gravitating toward the role he was born for: helping people grow. Whether coaching underperforming sales teams into confident contributors, training new hires, or connecting the right person to the right opportunity, Harold has spent his career as a quiet force multiplier in the lives of those around him.
The brand Harold brings to the Kate Shu Collective — Mind, Body, HeART — reflects the philosophy at the center of everything he does. The mind, the body, and the heart are not separate systems. They are one. And when they fall out of alignment — through heartbreak, loss, or the accumulated weight of a life fully lived — the path back is through honesty, reflection, and the courage to heal out loud.
"Everyone has to start from somewhere." — Harold Otis
